Emily J. Isaacs is the associate dean for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Montclair State University, where she has taught writing at many levels, and has also served in various administrative positions to support and deepen student learning.
Her research has been published in leading journals and anthologies in Writing Studies, and spans the areas of writing pedagogy, assessment, and innovations in teaching and administration. Recent projects include: Intersections: A Thematic Reader for Writers (Macmillan), Writing at the State U (forthcoming, Utah State University Press), and several writing assessment and program evaluation projects.
Emily has taught writing to a wide range of students: basic writers, English majors, and graduate students, among others. She has also frequently taught writing pedagogy courses to secondary and post-secondary teachers and to those who are preparing to become teachers.
